I have been a therapist in California since 2019 and have been fully licensed since 2022. I completed 3000 required intership hours at a Community mental health clinic, working with individuals, children ages 5-18, as well as couples and Families. I work with individuals facing problems with addictions, compulsive behaviors, and attachment issues that show up in the form of high-conflict relationships, self-sabotage, lack of connection, or loneliness. My overarching goal is to improve your mental health. It is possible with consistent attendance, complete honesty, and a willingness to change. I cannot achieve this alone; therapy is a lot of work, it requires commitment and follow-through.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will discuss your reason for seeking out therapy, presenting issues, and symptoms. Generally, we will get to know each other and see if my experience and knowledge are a match for the issues you wish to address. If this is therapy for kids, I will discuss with the parent what is going on and what they would like to see addressed, and then the second half of therapy will be with the child.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I come from a very honest, straightforward place. I meet my clients where they are at with no judgment. I am focused on the changes that you want to make in your lives and mental health, and I use my experience and solid treatment methods to get you where you want to be. Mental Health is extremely important. There are not many shortcuts. Things tend to get worse before they get better, but with solid treatment plans and a way to execute them, I have helped clients achieve more and be more comfortable in their lives and minds after treatment.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work well with most clients. My best work is with those who have been through trauma, those who are experiencing grief, chronic illness, themselves or caregivers, those with personality disorders, dissociative disorders, survivors of childhood trauma, anger issues, depression, and those struggling with hopelessness. I have worked with children who are on the spectrum or struggling with low self-esteem, depression, low school performance, and anxiety.

My treatment methods

Integrative

Clients tend to be highly intelligent and know what they are looking for in their treatment. I have found that using an integrative approach, drawing on several different treatment methods, works best as the client evolves over the course of treatment. Many times, as therapy progresses, more is uncovered than the presenting problem or symptoms presented in the intake; therefore, an integrative approach is required to meet the changing needs of my clients.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is a treatment method that will get you to the next level, defusing your thoughts from the self, which leads to rapid growth in therapy. Facing the issues that we are avoiding leads to alleviating problematic behavior and the emotional suffering of ourselves and consequently those around us

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed care is vital to those who have experienced trauma in their childhood or relationships as adults. Trauma fundamentally alters our nervous system and mental processes. This can skew things and profoundly affect the future of our mental health and relationships. Trauma-informed care is not only about being aware of the trauma and processing it, but figuring out how it shows up in our patterns and behaviors. Most of the time, it's our blind spots or those things that we find ourselves being defensive about or behaviors we can't explain to ourselves or those around us. Learning resiliency and coping skills is foundational to this treatment method.
