I originally started a career in clinical psychology. Once I completed an APA internship in psychology, I decided to return to school to study advanced nursing in psychiatry. I made this decision in hopes of expanding my education, training, and experiences in an effort to offer holistic mental health services to a broader population. Overall, my clinical and wide-ranging educational experience has been essential to helping me shape and open my perspective of how I approach and conceptualize mental health and wellness in each unique individual I have the pleasure to treat.
The intake process is simple and timely; there will be a few forms and consents sent to you to complete. The session will be conducted thought video conferencing. The first appointment is a psychiatric diagnostic evaluation that lasts approximately 60-90 minutes. If medication is prescribed, you are scheduled for a follow-up appointment in one or two weeks for 15 to 30 minutes. During the follow-up sessions, you can expect a discussion on topics that promote mental health and holistic wellness, such as exercise, nutrition, lifestyle modifications, management of psychosocial stressors, relaxation techniques, and self-care. Together we will create goals that will address your overall mental wellbeing and support continued health.
The treatment methods that I currently utilize are cognitive behavioral therapy and integrative or holistic therapy.
The areas that are my biggest strengths include holistic treatment and stress management.
