New to Grow
My name is Mark Hastings. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I tend to be interactive in my approach, not usually shying away from sharing my thoughts and questions with clients. My therapeutic approach is based on Pia Mellody's work in codependence--helping individuals "get their histories straight." I integrate basic psychotherapeutic interventions with wellness techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and straight talk, I do my best for all my clients.
Our first session will focus on you telling me about what you are looking for help with. I will most likely ask clarifying questions to pinpoint the concern. I will give you an opportunity to ask questions of me, and we can discuss what ongoing work together may be like. The first session will be an opportunity to see if you like my style, if you think I can help you, and if I think I can help.
I have been doing this work for some time, which always includes work on oneself. I will not ask of clients what I have not been willing to do myself. I am able to address long-held fears which have kept people stuck in unfulfilled lives
I love helping people who are perplexed by difficulties in their relationships with others--whether family members, co-workers, friends, or others. I have specific tools to help people who get overwhelmed by others' requests, demands, and actions.
For the past 20 plus years I have helped adults of all ages examine their thinking and behaviors as a key to improving mood. It is a standard line of inquiry that most populations can benefit from.
