Welcome! I'm Nnadozie, Ugochi Take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - seeing a mental health provider to seek help either by way of medication management or starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to mental health problems, anxiety, depression, and/or self-care. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life. Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, my typical process for working with clients includes the following steps: Evaluating the patient's emotional and psychological state. Reviewing their mental and medical histories and gathering information about their symptoms and behaviors. Engaging with clients in caring, supportive, nonjudgmental interactions within a safe environment. Establishing trust: The key to managing my client relationship is trust. Part of this trust can be accomplished by simply doing what I say I’ll do – such as meeting your deadlines and producing quality work. Communicate: Communication is one of the easiest ways that I establish trust with my clients as this is crucial in any client relationship.
My practice philosophies include, but are not limited to: Patient-centered care Evidenced-based practice Holistic care Respectful and compassionate care tailored to individual needs My method of practice: I offer comprehensive assessments and use evidence-based diagnostic criteria for all cases. It is my practice culture to develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans for each patient. I engage my clients through empathy, building trust, and monitoring for co-occurring disorders. We all experience anxiety, depression, or other mental health problems in some form or another that needs to be addressed when they start to get in the way of our happiness or productivity. I’ve been treating mental health problems mainly using medication management, therapy approaches such as CBT, and mindfulness
I love working with clients who are trying to navigate through life struggles in addition to dealing with mental health issues. I am most passionate about working with everyone from the age of 13 and above, irrespective of your gender. These are my ideal clients! I stay up to date with evidence-based treatment. I continue to read every resource I can find just to have one more skill in my toolbox to assist you.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT offers clients the ability to change negative thinking and behavior and replace them with positive thoughts. This could be achieved using mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and guided imagery to decrease their symptoms. CBT encourages clients to keep journals of their thoughts and to express their thoughts and feelings relating to their mood. It offers clients the opportunity to explore inbuilt coping strategies such as reading books, going to the gym, walking, using guided imagery, relaxation techniques, and mindfulness. While CBT may not work for those with severe mental disorders or those with learning difficulties, it is a great form of therapy for helping people accept and understand that they can change things by simply changing their thoughts. One of the major advantages of CBT is that it helps people understand that changing their thought processes can lead to a positive outcome.

I appreciated her understanding and compassion. She took the time to hear me and I felt understood. So far I feel she has already been a great asset to me and helping start the process of healing. I also feel understood as far as my prescription needed. I look forward to her continued care for me in the future. I
