Welcome! I'm Jerniece, Take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (NJ). I have a MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. I have over 6+ years of clinical experience working with diverse populations, including individual, single & blended parents, couples, groups, and families. Extensive experience processing within a safe and nurturing virtual setting.
In our first session, we'll start with brief introduction and identifying challenges to tailor your goals moving forward. Remember that the client is the expert. I offer a safe place to explore vulnerable and uncomfortable thoughts so that together, we can find ways to break negative patterns. Therapy can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share.
Understanding the profound impact of trauma on individuals' lives, I aim to create a supportive environment for clients, helping them process their experiences and find resilience in their healing journey. My dedication lies in assisting clients in overcoming past challenges and embracing a more positive future. Together, we will identify your challenges and goals - where you want your life to be a month, six months, a year from now. Then, we'll identify options and strategies you can use to get there. You'll leave the session with a better understanding of what you're facing with an "actions I can take right now" approach. There will always be room for suggestions concerning our work together, including keeping each other accountable.
My passion in counseling is to create a relationship built on safety, trust, and hope, where people feel accepted and challenged to grow in new and meaningful ways. I consider it a privilege to be able to walk with someone through their fears and hurts and help them to experience healing and restoration. I look forward to working with you. It would be an honor if you allowed me to accompany you on your journey.
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past six years. It’s helped many of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. Using CBT to recognize how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. Using that knowledge to change thinking patterns, which will help lead a less anxious and stressed life.
