Helen Ohene, FNP/ PMHNP-BC Ms. Helen Ohene is a graduate from University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where she obtained her master’s and her post-master’s. She is dual certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She has over 15 years of nursing experience across a variety of settings including both inpatient and outpatient. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Her experience with both inpatient and outpatient makes her very proactive in handling challenging and crises situations. Her attentive listening and compassionate nature are great qualities in caring for her clients.

Due to my previous background as a Family Nurse Practitioner before specializing in psych, I have a broad range of clinical experience working with individuals with Depressive, Bipolar, Anxiety, Personality disorders, Eating disorders, Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective disorders, attention deficit disorders and other chronic mental illnesses across lifespan. (Children, adults and elderly population)
Consider the patient as a whole person. Patients are provided with wholistic care, to ensure they anre not sure focusing on their mental health, but also their physical health. Currently we have included weight management in out treatment plan. We want our patients to feel comfortable in their body.

I've seen several providers, but Dr. Ohene stands out. She made me feel completely understood and heard, and it was clear that her goal was to find a solution that was right for me, not just prescribe something. Her genuine desire to help and her collaborative approach have made a huge difference in my treatment journey.
