Hello! I am a Licensed Psychologist based in Pennsylvania with over 30 years of clinical experience. I earned my undergraduate degree from Shippensburg State College in 1982. After two years of working in the community mental health field, I attended Trinity University in San Antonio where I earned my Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology in 1986. My experience has been quite broad. I focus on my clients' needs with the goal of helping them become the best version of themselves possible.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our fist session together will be exploratory in nature for both of us. As a clinician, I will conduct a comprehensive clinical assessment as I focus on the nature of your difficulties and your needs. I will provided you with a thorough explanation of my findings and the rationale behind the conclusions that I have developed and answer any questions that you may have. My goal is to help you fully understand the nature of the difficulties your are confronting while also understanding the focus of the treatment process. Additionally, I may even recommend additional assessment by a medical professional to determine if medications might be beneficial. Again, I will provided a full explanation to you as to my rationale and answer any questions that you may have that are within my scope. We will form a partnership with your care and wellbeing the priority. Finally, we will develop a focused treatment plan based on your needs as identified by the assessment that will be tailor made just for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Given my 31 years of experience as a Licensed Psychologist, I am easy going and my greatest strength is in developing a rapport and partnership with my patients. Many of my patients tell me that they feel comfortable with me from the start. I maintain an open dialogue with my patients and encourage them to ask any questions they may have. Oh, and yes, they may even disagree with me too!!! Also, I am confident in my clinical assessment, case formulation, and treatment planning skills. I see the "whole picture" at they say which is key in the treatment and healing processes.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

As noted above, I have had a long career and have helped individuals with a variety of challenges ranging anywhere from difficulties adjusting to life changes, anxiety, depression, chronic mental illness, addictions, couples issues and so forth. Recognizing one is in need of some help is challenging for most. However, it's much more common than you may think and, trust me, you are not alone. The first step is the hardest. Let's talk.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

With over 30 years of clinical experience, I utilize a variety of treatment methods in order to meet my patients' needs. I feel an eclectic approach allows me to tailor my approach to each individual and to meet each patient in their comfort zone in an effort to maximize results.

Couples Counseling

My approach to couples counseling is eclectic and tends to focus on communication and priorities. Couples often have difficulty with effective communication which often leads to conflicts and creating their own unit or sense of "us." Many issues can be avoided with effective communication. The ultimate goal is for the couple to blend and come together as a unit and with a sense of "us" while also maintaining their own individual sense of autonomy.
