I am a therapist with 10 years of experience in the field, with specialties in treatment of trauma, anxiety, and grief. I also practice utilization of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Prolonged Exposure, along with experience in use of mindfulness, emotional tolerance and person-centered techniques with my clients. I've worked in community mental health for much of my career, so I have had experience with clients who had struggled with challenges such as housing insecurity, incarceration and addiction and complex grief. I also enjoy working with people who face challenges with self-image and relational trauma through education on boundaries and healthy communication as well as self-advocacy.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I believe in letting the clients lead the session with their main concerns and any background information that would be helpful in our time together. I will work to build rapport and help the person to complete a treatment plan to focus on central goals. I tend to take a relaxed and laid back approach to therapy, working with clients in an east to understand and straightforward way

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider are my ability to understand and identify unique perspectives, my use of non-judgmental communication and validation of experiences, as well as my ability to collaborate with and challenge clients when neccessary

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In utilizing CBT, I explain the process and conceptualization of linking one's thoughts, emotions and behaviors to underlying processes that drive our motivations in daily life. Through examining this in a long-term lens, I work together with the client in order to help them identify the origins of this along with adjusting these core beliefs in order to improve quality of life.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy

Through prolonged exposure, I work with the client to establish a safe space in order to explore and confront traumatic memories in a structured, multi-session process. We identify both the central trauma to work through in session, and through the use of homework I encourage the client to expose themselves to tasks and activities that are hindered by said trauma.
