I have been working as a psychotherapist for over twenty-five years. I love working with people, helping them to find the path they want to take and supporting them in meeting their goals. I work with a wide variety of clients. I am a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor and have been Certified as a (CADC) Certified Addictions Counselor, School Social Worker (to do in school assessments) and most recently Certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I see clients who struggle with a wide range of mental health mental health issues, addiction, or a combination of the two. I also work with clients struggling with stress, family issues, communication issues, grief, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and young adults' who live at home and are struggle to become independent. Finally, I see many clients who are older and need support transitioning into retirement.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is often an anxious time for the client. I do my best to go as slow or fast as you need, to go over your history and start to get to know each other. I want you to feel as comfortable as possible in a warm and supporting environment. We can discuss goals and we can, together, begin a conversation regarding how to help you meet them.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

After 25 plus years of being in this field I have worked with a very wide range of people. Over the years I have developed my own style which is interactive, focused on each individuals needs, and so I use the modalities that best fit each person and that could even change over the course of the session. I am extremely interested in my clients lives and issues and truly want to know them and help them.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

My focus is on the needs of each person. As a mental health and addictions counselor I have developed a unique style of interaction, reflective listening, teaching skills and tools, while always respecting the goals of each person.

Psychodynamic

Every person's past and the past of their families, whether they know it or not, stays with them.. My goal is to help each person work on current issues and then start to explore what caused them and how they can use this knowledge and experience to maintain their mental health.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Over the years I have been honored to work with people of many cultures, countries, lifestyles and appreciate everything I have learned from clients as it always stays with me and I can help them more effectively.
