It is based on the principle that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and by modifying dysfunctional thinking and behavior, we can improve emotional regulation and develop healthier coping strategies. In my extensive practice, I have successfully utilized CBT to treat a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, and phobias, through techniques like cognitive restructuring, exposure therapy, and skills training.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy designed to help individuals manage intense emotions, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and improve interpersonal relationships. It combines standard cognitive-behavioral techniques for emotion regulation and reality-testing with concepts of mindfulness, distress tolerance, and acceptance derived from Buddhist meditative practice. My professional experience includes effectively using DBT to treat borderline personality disorder, suicidal behavior, and chronic mental health issues by teaching skills in four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic approach that views the mind as composed of multiple distinct parts, each with its own perspectives and roles, and a core Self that possesses qualities such as compassion, curiosity, and calmness. IFS therapy helps individuals identify and understand these internal parts, particularly those that carry burdens of trauma or negative experiences, and facilitates healing by fostering a harmonious relationship among them.
