New to Grow
Hi, I am Vanessa, a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 3+ years of experience providing therapy using a trauma-informed, holistic, and person-centered approach to meet clients where they are at and assist them in addressing psychosocial issues impairing their quality of life. My style is compassionate, assertive, and transparent to establish a safe, welcoming, and genuine therapeutic space for my clients. I understand seeking therapy can feel scary and intimidating, especially if you were raised in upbringings where it was stigmatized, therefore I commit to support and empower my clients throughout this process to help them achieve a positive and effective experience.
On the first session I focus on engagement through warmth and genuineness talk to build rapport and a trusting therapeutic alliance.
I am positive, energetic, observant, warmth, compassionate, empathic, humorous when appropriate, and approachable. My priority is making sure the client feels comfortable, safe, understood, and gains valuable insight though this experience.
My passion is to assist individuals overcome debilitating symptoms, destructive behaviors, poor boundaries, and/or negative thought processes, to improve navigating daily living and achieve quality of life. Wounds or high levels of stress can interfere with core elements of our identity and the ability to show up authentically at work and in interpersonal relationships. As the co-pilot of this process, my role is to help my clients identify, explore, process, and gain insight into their situation and collaboratively problem-solve or redefine things that best support them, all while respecting their self-determination and dignity. If you have felt lost, stuck, negative, dismissed, constantly irritable, seeking fulfillment, wanting to deepen your self-acceptance/self-worth or simply gain clarity/perspective, therapy can be one effective tool that can help you move forward in your journey and it would be my honor to guide you along the way.
