Hello, my name is Helen Ntung DNP and I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner with eight years of experience providing compassionate mental health care. My background includes both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, and I also offer convenient telehealth services to support patients wherever they are. My approach is holistic—I aim to understand the whole person, not just the symptoms. My goal is to help each individual achieve stability, emotional well‑being, and a return to a healthy, fulfilling lifestyle.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is focused on getting to know you, understanding your concerns, and building a foundation for effective care. Here’s what you can expect: 1. A Warm, Supportive Conversation We’ll talk about what brings you in, your current symptoms, and any goals you have for treatment—at your pace and without judgment. 2. A Comprehensive Mental Health Evaluation I’ll ask about your medical history, past treatment, lifestyle, stressors, and overall well‑being so I can understand the full picture. 3. Space to Share Your Story You’ll have plenty of time to talk about what’s been challenging for you and what you hope to improve. 4. A Collaborative Treatment Plan Before the session ends, we’ll discuss possible next steps, which may include therapy recommendations, lifestyle approaches, and—if appropriate—medication options. 5. Clear Guidance and Next Steps You’ll leave with a clear understanding of your plan, what our follow‑up will look like, and how to reach me between visits if needed.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Holistic, Whole‑Person Care I don’t focus on symptoms alone—I look at your overall well‑being, including sleep, stress, lifestyle, environment, and emotional health. Collaborative and Client‑Centered I believe treatment works best when we make decisions together. You’ll always be heard, respected, and included in every step of your care plan. Balanced Use of Medication and Lifestyle Strategies Medication can be helpful, but it is never the only tool. I also integrate evidence‑based lifestyle changes, coping strategies, and supportive therapy techniques to help you build long‑term stability. Practical, Real‑World Support I aim to give you tools you can use immediately—skills, habits, and insights that support your daily life, not just your time in session. Consistency and Follow‑Through I provide structured care with clear expectations, regular check‑ins, and ongoing adjustments to ensure your treatment continues to work for you. Focus on Helping You Return to a Fulfilling Life My goal isn’t just symptom improvement—it’s helping you feel grounded, confident, and able to function well in your relationships, work, and daily routines.
