Georgiana Anugom
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over six years of experience supporting individuals across the lifespan from adolescents navigating life's earliest challenges to adults and older adults seeking renewed mental wellness. I am deeply committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care, and I bring both clinical expertise and genuine warmth to every therapeutic relationship. I practice across private practice, outpatient, telehealth, and community mental health settings, because I believe quality psychiatric care should be accessible to everyone who needs it. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, and psychotic disorders, offering a comprehensive and individualized approach to each person I work with. At the heart of my practice is a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which I integrate thoughtfully alongside medication management to help my clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, build meaningful coping skills, and create lasting change. I believe that healing looks different for everyone, and I make it a priority to meet each client exactly where they are — with patience, curiosity, and hope.
After six years of practicing across diverse settings and populations, I have developed a strong clinical instinct for identifying what is truly driving a client's struggles, and for knowing when to adjust the plan.
Whether you are taking your very first step toward mental health support or continuing a longer journey, I am here to walk alongside you every step of the way.
First session
Our first session is all about getting to know you, not just your symptoms, but your story. I want to understand what has brought you to this point, what you have tried before, and what you are hoping to feel or experience differently in your life. During our initial appointment, we will walk through your personal and psychiatric history, current concerns, and any medications you may already be taking. I will ask questions that help me build a complete picture of your mental health, your lifestyle, and your goals, so that together we can create a care plan that truly fits you. You can expect me to be direct, warm, and thorough. I will explain my clinical thinking, answer your questions honestly, and make sure you leave our first session with a clear understanding of next steps. There are no silly questions here, and nothing is off the table. By the end of our first visit, my goal is for you to feel seen, heard, and confident that you are in the right place. Come as you are, I will handle the rest.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to make people feel at ease, even when they are discussing the hardest parts of their lives. I create a space that feels safe, nonjudgmental, and real, because I believe that the quality of our therapeutic relationship directly impacts the quality of your care. I am also known for being straightforward and transparent. I do not believe in overcomplicating psychiatry. I take the time to explain your diagnosis, your treatment options, and my clinical reasoning in plain language, so that you are always an informed and empowered participant in your own care. Clinically, my greatest strength lies in my integrative approach. I do not see medication and therapy as separate paths, I see them as complementary tools. By weaving CBT principles into my medication management practice, I help clients not only feel better but think and function better too. I look at the whole person, your biology, your thoughts, your environment, and your goals, and I build treatment plans that reflect that full picture. After six years of practicing across diverse settings and populations, I have developed a strong clinical instinct for identifying what is truly driving a client's struggles, and for knowing when to adjust the plan. I am not a one-size-fits-all provider, and I take pride in tailoring my approach to meet each client's unique needs. Most importantly, I genuinely care. I show up for my clients the same way I would show up for my own family, with honesty, dedication, and a deep desire to see them thrive.
Ideal clients
I work best with individuals who are ready to take an active role in their mental health journey and are open to a collaborative, medication-informed approach to care. My ideal clients are those living with depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, trauma, PTSD, personality disorder or psychotic disorders who are seeking clarity, stability, and a path forward. I tend to connect especially well with adolescents, adults, and older adults who may have felt unheard or misunderstood in previous care settings and are looking for a provider who truly listens. If you are someone who values honesty, consistency, and a straightforward approach and who is committed to doing the work between appointments, we are likely a great fit. You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. You just need to be willing to show up.
