New to Grow
Hi, I’m Yoana Luna, LMFT (#160919), a bilingual Spanish‑English therapist with over 20 years of experience supporting children, adults, couples, and families. My approach is warm, person‑centered, and grounded in deep respect for each client’s lived experience. As a Latina therapist, I understand how powerful it is to sit with someone who shares your language, culture, and values. Much of my work with Latino clients centers on storytelling, where dichos, family roles, respeto, and generational expectations shape how we make meaning of our lives. I create a space where clients can speak freely — in English, Spanish, or Spanglish — and explore the emotions tied to their stories without judgment. Together, we look at generational trauma, cultural resilience, and the strengths that have helped you survive difficult moments. I specialize in couples counseling, domestic violence recovery, trauma‑informed care, CBT, family conflict, grief, and anxiety. Whether you’re navigating relationship challenges, healing from past harm, or trying to break long‑standing family patterns, I help you feel seen, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change. My goal is to offer a therapeutic space where you feel connected, understood, and safe enough to grow. When you’re ready, I’m here to walk with you toward healing and stronger relationships.
In our first session, my goal is to help you feel comfortable, understood, and grounded. We’ll start by talking about what brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping to change or heal. I’ll ask gentle questions to learn about your story, your strengths, and the cultural or family experiences that shape how you move through the world. You’re welcome to speak in English, Spanish, or Spanglish — whatever feels most natural. I’ll also explain how I work, what you can expect from our time together, and how we’ll collaborate at a pace that feels safe for you. There is no pressure to share more than you’re ready for. Many clients tell me they feel relief after the first session simply because they finally have a space where they don’t have to hold everything alone. By the end of our session, we’ll identify your initial goals and discuss next steps so you leave with clarity, direction, and a sense of support.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a warm, culturally grounded space where clients feel seen, understood, and safe to share their stories. As a bilingual Latina therapist, I honor the power of storytelling, dichos, family values, and the lived experiences that shape identity. I welcome English, Spanish, and Spanglish in the room, allowing clients to express themselves in the language that carries their truth. With over 20 years of experience, I bring deep clinical skill in trauma‑informed care, couples therapy, domestic violence recovery, and CBT. I’m skilled at helping clients untangle complex family dynamics, navigate relationship challenges, and explore generational patterns with compassion and clarity. My approach is person‑centered, collaborative, and grounded in cultural humility. Clients often tell me they appreciate my ability to balance warmth with directness, offering validation while also helping them build insight, strengthen boundaries, and move toward meaningful change. I see therapy as a partnership, and I’m committed to helping you reconnect with your resilience, your voice, and your sense of belonging.
