My work has been guided by a strong commitment to strengthening both interpersonal and intrapersonal awareness as a pathway to meaningful change. I believe that growth happens when individuals feel understood, supported, and equipped with practical tools to navigate life’s complexities. Through my work with individuals and families across the lifespan, I strive to approach each person with compassion, curiosity, and respect, supporting emotional, mental, and physical well-being at every stage of human development.

It is the policy of Dr. Olushola Bakare, LMFT, that our professional relationship will be terminated after a one-month consistent lapse of meeting with a client. Dr. Olushola Bakare, LMFT, will attempt to notify you of this change in status as soon as possible after one month. My ethical duty is identifying, being available, and caring for current clients. Recently, I have come to really see the value in being able "to hold space" for clients to express their deepest feelings and possibly find the answers and direction that they need as they become more self-aware.

Do you ever feel misunderstood, no one ever listens or cares about your life? Do you sometimes feel that you are trapped in a room without an exit? I will never exactly understand what it is like to be you, however I believe that significant progress can be made in even the toughest of life situations. Having someone that will listen and cares about your circumstances and strives to find a solution is imperative. I love to collaborate with my clients and develop a blueprint which can help them achieve their goals. Whatever your struggles, there's always a way out.
I bring something to individual and couples therapy that is rare today and not from a text book, that is lived experience. In drawing from different evidence based schools of thought in combination with my lived experiences we will employ such modalities of therapy such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. Adversity and struggle are situations that are common. The goal to avoid both would be ideal but that is not reality. Peace and calmness in the mist of adversity and struggle is a possible reality and what we will strive to help you achieve.

You are here hoping to find that therapist who stands out to you because you want to find someone who can help you. The search can be overwhelming for some. Most of the profiles of therapists are going to say similar things. Most of which should be standard like brakes on a car.
I cannot promise I'm the right one for you. Here is what I can tell you about my approach. I believe in being practical which means I will not use a lot of psycho-babble or fancy strategies. I have a tendency to be blunt. My wife says I'm the "bluntest politest man" she has ever met. I'm going to be real with you.
I love couples/marriage counseling, and that is my main focus. However, about half of my clients have always been individuals. Some people just need a place to vent. Others need help solving a problem, and most people need a little of both.
I know therapy might be a little intimidating or even scary to some. Try to think of it as a massage for your brain. It's a place where you can say whatever you want guilt-free.
Art Therapy is to heal with art. A picture is worth a thousand words. In my 30 years experience as an Art Therapist iI have witnessed people heal with their art expressions. Art has a way of getting to the heart of the matter very quickly to foster self discovery, growth and healing. You do not need to be an artist to do art therapy. It's about the process not the product. It is creative and fun.

Hello, my name is Bernard Scott, and I live in Boston Massachusetts. I attended Boston Public Schools, attended Boston University for my bachelor's degree, Simmons University for my master's degree, and Southern California School of Professional Studies where I received my Doctorate (PsyD) in Counseling Psychology. I became licensed in (psychiatric) Clinical Social Work and received my LICSW License in 1996. I have been in this field for over 35 years and worked in a number of clinics, hospitals in Boston and Brockton. I enjoy helping people find their inner strength and work through those subconscious unresolved issues from the past so that the individual can finally be free from childhood traumas, past relationship issues ect. I strongly believe that between the developmental ages of 1 through 18 can and does affect who you are today and what ever happened to you between that time still has a hold on you today at the ages of 20, 30 50, etc. Getting rid of all that hurt, anger, trauma, etc. so that you can address it, work through it, come to terms with it and ultimately leave it all behind, and unload it.
