Hi, I’m Tiffany. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Alabama and Massachusetts, a trained clinical supervisor, and a therapist with specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and adoption-competent therapy (TAC). I am passionate about empowering people to recognize their individual strengths and abilities. I am the owner and therapist at Breakthrough Beginnings, LLC, where I provide individual, family, relationship, and adoption-competent therapy. Through my Training for Adoption Competency (TAC), I specialize in supporting adoptees, adoptive families, foster families, and individuals navigating attachment, trauma, identity, and life transitions. I have 9 years of experience in the field of social work to include DHR family service work, medical social work, substance abuse, as well as inpatient and outpatient psychotherapy. Over the years, I have worked with a variety of individuals, groups, and families to help them understand, process, and grow in various aspects of their lives.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session together, we'll start with introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing, and discuss goals. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. My approach is nonjudgmental, supportive, and strengths-based. I integrate DBT principles, trauma-informed care, and adoption-competent practices to help clients build emotional regulation, improve relationships, and develop effective coping skills.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
A BREAKTHROUGH is defined as something that changes the course of your life going forward and ensures that things will never be the same for you again. It takes courage to take that first step, and I am here to support you through the process.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I believe in a nonjudgmental, supportive environment that values both lived experiences and psychoeducation. My approach integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) principles, emphasizing mindfulness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I am passionate about recovery and fostering positive life changes, guiding individuals to develop critical thinking, self-awareness, and personal competence. By honoring individual journeys and strengths, I strive to create an inclusive and empowering space where individuals can grow.
