Hi! I am Leonice, a Licensed Professional counselor (LPC) based in Texas. I am also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in MA. I received my Master's in counseling in 2016 while working in a shelter for survivors of domestic violence. Over the years, I have also worked providing support to parents feeling overwhelmed and stressed. I have also worked with people from a variety of stages of life dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or other challenges, providing them with a safe and non-judgmental space for exploration, healing, and growth.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

On our first session, you can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where we'll begin by getting to know each other. We'll discuss your reasons for seeking counseling, your goals, and any concerns you may have. I'll explain the counseling process and answer any questions you may have. Together, we'll collaborate on a treatment plan tailored to your needs and begin laying the groundwork for our therapeutic journey ahead.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider lie in my empathy, active listening skills, and ability to create a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their emotions. I want you to feel welcome and safe to share your thoughts and concerns. My goal is to support and empower you with the tools and knowledge you need to navigate your journey confidently so that you may succeed.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my role as a mental health counselor, I utilize cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) to help clients address and manage their mental health concerns. CBT focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors to promote emotional well-being. Through structured sessions, I guide clients in challenging irrational beliefs, developing coping strategies, and fostering healthier ways of thinking and behaving. This approach has proven effective in empowering individuals to overcome challenges such as anxiety, depression, and various other mental health issues, ultimately enhancing their overall quality of life.
