Life can look completely fine on the outside while feeling exhausting on the inside. You may be carrying anxiety, trauma, people pleasing, self-doubt, or simply the weight of trying to hold everything together. If you're looking for a therapist who is genuine, down-to-earth, and willing to meet you where you are, you're in the right place.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if this is your first time. You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out. If you're ready for a therapist who will listen, laugh with you when appropriate, challenge you gently, and help you make meaningful changes, I'd love to meet you.
Clients who come to me are strong, and often need a compassionate, listening ear of someone who "gets it." Perhaps you're someone who has never seen a therapist, or maybe you are a seasoned pro. Either way, my goal is to help you better understand yourself, develop healthier patterns, and move toward the life you want.
Welcome. I am here for you!
I began training to be a psychotherapist 15 years ago after having worked in publishing for many years. Becoming a Social Worker and helping others has always been a kind of calling for me, but it took a little while for me to arrive at my goal. I hope that that part of my story helps to prove that it is never too late to change or to pursue goals. I continue to integrate the things that I have learned through formal education and through my own experiences of life so that I am best able to help others who are experiencing distress and difficulties with navigating life.
We all need additional support from time-to-time, especially given the complicated, fast-changing world we live in. My goal as a psychotherapist is to be a source of support and assistance as you develop insight into the difficulties you face and as you begin to develop strategies for change. Through interactive-therapy sessions, I help you to understand and clarify life’s challenges and I support you as you begin to make the changes that are needed to make progress towards your goals. I help my clients to discover and explore a positive path in therapy that they can then continue to follow as they pursue their goals and their lives independently.
I believe that everyone has inherent strength. While I can be direct and to the point, I understand that this conversation is about your life, not mine. I also believe in the power of laughter and that everyone is capable of leading their best life.
I live in a multi dog/cat/parrot household and odds are good you will not just hear them but may occasionally see them. No worries they don’t judge and have been sworn to HIPAA secrecy.

I help you learn to manage thoughts and feelings so you can feel more in control in how you handle your life and relationships. Together we can explore the issues that keep you from having a more fulfilling life.
So you might begin to utilize the insights and skills you learned right of way, I embrace a client-based approach, focusing on your needs and immediate concerns. I provide a safe space for you to share your concerns, to explore new options, to practice new ways, to grow, and to heal.
Whether you are dealing with depression or anxiety, feeling overwhelmed with daily life or have problems relating to others, I am here to help you.

You’re used to being the one others rely on—but lately you may feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from yourself. Many women come to therapy feeling anxious, burned out, or stretched thin from juggling work, caregiving, relationships, and the expectations they place on themselves. If you work in a helping profession—like healthcare, education, or therapy—you may be used to supporting everyone else while quietly carrying your own stress, exhaustion, or compassion fatigue. Therapy offers a space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and begin finding balance again.
I work with women navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and emotional exhaustion. My approach is holistic and compassionate, integrating CBT, ACT, mindfulness, breath meditation, and psychoeducation. Together we’ll identify what matters most to you and build practical tools to support your mental and emotional well-being.
I also have additional training in women’s health and compassion fatigue, and I enjoy supporting women who spend their days supporting others. If meaningful to you, we can explore spirituality as part of the healing process. Therapy with me is collaborative, supportive—and sometimes includes humor. If this resonates, I invite you to reach out.

My first career includes 17 years of retail management. I worked in multiple divisions, environments, and roles within the retail management industry. Most of my experience was in big-box retail environments or corporate offices, so I understand the expectations and stressors of P&L management, marketing, staff performance/recruitment/training & development, shrinkage, O.S.H.A. compliance, and merchandising. I transitioned from the retail management industry to the human services industry in March 2010 after earning my Master’s degree in Human Services, with a specialty in Mental Health Counseling. I recently obtained a doctoral degree in Human and Social Services.
This information is pertinent for adults who need assistance to cope with work-life balance, corporate industry standards, stressful work environments, conflict management with co-workers, and work performance due to compassion fatigue or inappropriate time management.

Hi there! I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Illinois with over 8 years experience providing therapeutic services to diverse populations of individuals, groups, and families. I have worked with clients with a wide variety of presenting concerns including depression, stress and anxiety, ADHD, family conflicts, relationship issues, anger management, and self-esteem. In my experience as a counselor, I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of individuals in various settings. I have worked with children and adults in the community, residential, hospital, and educational settings. In each environment I have witnessed the marvel of human potential firsthand. As a clinician I approach people and the work that I do from the belief that people have the innate ability to grow and heal on their own. My personal life experience and my practice have fostered this belief, recognizing that the process may require or be made more manageable with some assistance or a guide, in the form of counseling.
Through my experiences I have witnessed the benefits of the human components that aid in the healing process of psychological symptoms that create difficulty in moving toward fulfillment and full integration of the human experience in the lives of many. The therapeutic relationship, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard are components that for me represent the core of therapy. These components create an experience in which someone can safely explore themselves, their experiences, the world around them, and identify solutions to ailments and the "true self" that is often altered by the world around us.

I use DBT(Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) informed skills to help women and individuals in the perinatal period and beyond build mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and healthy relationship skills. These tools are effective in managing anxiety, depression, mood changes, trauma responses, disordered eating, substance use, and other emotional challenges common in women’s and perinatal mental health.
Welcome! I'm Sarah! Your story matters. You have value. I don't want you to walk through this pain alone.
I work with females who want to work on anxiety, people-pleasing, insecure attachment, emotional regulation, perfectionism, communication, setting boundaries, grief, comparison, self-compassion, shame, building confidence, divorce, health struggles, relational concerns, navigating breakups, practicing self-care, and building a healthy relationship with yourself and others. Whatever is hurting or aching must be tended to. I am a warm, Christian therapist who focuses on creating a space where you can share the painful parts of your story as well as feel supported through practical tools and new perspectives to move forward.
In the first few minutes of each session, I teach a tool. These tools have been extremely helpful for me and my clients, so I am passionate to share them and find my clients make more progress! Then I check in with you on what you would like to process for that day. After you share, I focus on processing your feelings and the situation as well as sharing my perspectives and tools. Feel free to reach out to see if I might be a good fit for you!
