I am a holistic and culturally sensitive therapist (and Reiki Practitioner) with over seven years of experience specializing in trauma-informed care. As an EMDR therapist, I am passionate about helping individuals navigate and heal from complex emotional and psychological challenges. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. My approach includes EMDR Therapy, CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic Therapy, and ACT. I am also IFS informed, which helps me provide a well-rounded and integrative treatment experience. I have a particular focus on working with survivors of abuse (Domestic, incestual, sexual, physical, etc). Additionally, I support clients dealing with PTSD, C-PTSD, dissociative disorders, anxiety, mood disorders, depression, and women’s issues. My goal is to create a safe, empathetic environment where clients can explore their struggles and work towards meaningful healing and growth. Staying current with the latest developments in psychotherapy and trauma care is important to me, as I believe it’s essential for providing effective and evidence-based treatment. I am committed to empowering my clients on their journey, facilitating their transformation, and supporting their path to a more fulfilling life.
Our first two sessions will usually focus on the intake. During these sessions I will gather information about you and your background while leaving room for you to ask questions or discuss more prominent issues you may have been wanting to get off your chest. During the first two sessions we will also develop goals for therapy. In follow-up sessions we will continue getting to know each other and begin working on goals. Because everyone's situation is unique, the take-away will be different based on many factors. At the very least I hope clients can leave the session feeling heard, safe, and even a little better after discussing problems that have been on their mind. My goal is to also provide clients with tools and skills they can use every day to help manage mood and symptoms.
I believe my biggest strength is helping people build a more loving relationship with themselves. This is such an important factor because the way you feel about yourself can help you develop a more positive perspective about everything else around you. This can be challenging but necessary.
After a thorough assessment and prep work, I may suggest starting EMDR therapy. This is a procedural therapy that follows specific steps and processes. I absolutely love this style of therapy and have seen great success in clients I have used this with.
CBT is a foundational style of therapy I use quite often in sessions. Being able to assist clients with restructuring thinking and behavior patterns, in a healthier way, is fundamental.
DBT is used as apart of my eclectic approach to therapy. There are many tools/techniques I take from this style of therapy to incorporate it in sessions.
