Before becoming a counselor, I spent 12 years as an educator, which gave me a deep understanding of the academic, social, and emotional challenges that young people face. Today, I work with clients ages 10 through 35, supporting them through the pivotal transitions of adolescence, young adulthood, and early professional life.

I operate from a strictly trauma-informed framework. This means I understand that safety and nervous system stabilization are the prerequisites for any real healing, and your autonomy and pace are always my top priorities.
Whether you are navigating intense grief, the pressure of a major life transition, or the ongoing impact of past trauma, I provide a grounded, non-judgmental space where you are seen as a resilient survivor. Together, we can shift from just talking about the problem to actively building the functional, manageable life you deserve.

I am a deaf licensed clinical social worker that specializes in working with the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Deaf Blind, CODA/SODA's (Children of Deaf Adults, or Spouse/Partners of Deaf Adults) and the interpreting community. By incorporating a holistic approach with specific focus on the mind-body-spirit, I will meet you where you are at, and assist you with figuring out the next steps to take in feeling more whole again.
I approach mental wellness as a spectrum of being that will regularly ebb and flow for all people. We all have "good" days and "not so good" days; we all need someone to talk to and to listen to us when days are harder, and we all need a compassionate voice to tell us that we can work through this. Menatl health work is manageable when it is education and information based, which helps us to make our problems seem more manageable. I like to help my clients feel comfortable about talking through their thoughts and obstacles, and finding real, simple solutions to problems. I have worked with people of all ages; my youngest client was 3 years old, and my oldest client was 84; I am proud to say that I can adjust to meet clients' needs. This is due to my ability to listen and to collaborate actively with clients to help them have a say in their care and healing.

My goal is simple: help you feel more like yourself again, but stronger, more confident, and in control.

***Now accepting new clients.
A lifelong student of human behavior, I completed a Bachelor's degree in Pychology in 1993, and a Master's of Counseling Psychology degree in 2004. Through the years I have studied areas like vagus nerve impact on health outcomes, trauma resolution, meditation and mindfulness practices and the effects of nature and sound on phisiology. I am an integrative practitioner, using a multi modal orientation to understand you as a complete being. I draw from Attachment theory, Family Systems theory and Adverse Childhood Experiences research to identify early life challenges. I find the Gottman method and Cognitive Behavioral Couples Therapy useful with many couples who want to attend sessions together, and more exploratory frameworks such as Humanistic and Transpersonal theories useful for solo growth and development.
In session I have a collaborative style that is informed by both intuition and 3 decades of studying various evidence based approaches. We will identify your strengths, your concerns, your interests and goals and then make a plan. After defining the areas of your life you wish to work on, I will accompany you on your path toward your highest and most healthy self as a guide and resource for support when it is growth oriented. We will stop where you choose to stop, whether it is with the immediate problem/s resolution or continuing into a more complex and transformational understanding of Self, and where that may lead you.
Do you feel overwhelmed, frustrated or misunderstood? I am here to help.
I'm Magdhalini, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida with an extensive experience in mental health, disabilities and substance abuse. I have a master’s degree in counseling, and I enjoy working with individuals that need support to overcome daily struggles and life changes. I have experience working with mood disorders including anxiety, depression, and ADHD.
My name is Melissa Benzaquen, a bilingual Licensed Mental Health Counselor born and raised in Venezuela. I help adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, life transitions, relationship challenges, and emotional overwhelm find greater clarity, confidence, and emotional balance.
I am especially passionate about supporting women who feel emotionally exhausted, stuck, disconnected from themselves, or trapped in unhealthy relationship patterns. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling lost, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward. Together, we work toward rebuilding self-worth, strengthening emotional resilience, and creating a life that feels more peaceful, fulfilling, and aligned with their values.
I believe therapy should be a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. My goal is to help clients feel emotionally stronger, more hopeful, and more confident in their ability to navigate life's challenges and create meaningful change.
