I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California. My Master's degree is in Counseling Psychology and my Doctoral degree is in Organizational Development Psychology. I started my clinical journey in 2009.

I can help every individual, couple, and family in diverse cultural backgrounds by supporting them to get a better understanding of their life, relationships and expectations in order to develop self-awareness, self confidence and creating a balance between mind, body and spirit. I work with individuals who are often facing a variety of mental health concerns including , domestic violence , relationship problems, anger, grief, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma.

Let me start by saying self-care is the one thing that we can do for ourselves, but is usually the last thing we do for ourselves. So, congratulations for taking the first steps in caring for yourself. The journey of therapy is not easy. There will be times when it gets exhausting but as you continue through your path the answers will be revealed through the work you complete with your therapist. As a therapist, I have worked with a plethora of clients from couples counseling, to adolescent, trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, and mood disorders.

I’ve studied and practiced many methods. I like to be eclectic and work with you with what’s needed to get you back on track and feeling your best. I was a teacher for many years, then went for my masters in social work. Life has many twists and turns. Sometimes we can feel off balance or are suffering from depression or anxiety. We’ve all had our ups and downs and getting back on track and feeling our best is a goal I enjoy helping people achieve the life they want.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a decade of experience specializing in treating individuals struggling with substance use disorders, trauma, and co-occurring mental health conditions. I work with dual-diagnosis clients, where I provide therapy to clients facing complex challenges, including addiction, PTSD, depression, and anxiety. My therapeutic approach integrates psychodynamic therapy, CBT, and motivational interviewing, helping clients uncover the underlying emotional and relational patterns that contribute to their struggles.

I am a licensed clinical social worker licensed in Virginia. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD, and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and rational-emotive therapy. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I’m licensed in two states, California, and Georgia. I am also currently pursuing my license in a third state, Florida. I have been a social worker for 20 years, 16 of which have been in the mental health field. I was in the military for 10 years and discharged as an Army Captain. I also have a second master’s degree in educational counseling and a pupil personnel services (PPS) credential. I have many years of experience in the areas of social work, counseling/therapy, career development, and upper management. I have had the opportunity to work for government, educational, non-profit, and profit/private organizations. I have expertise working in the areas of sexual assault, domestic violence, military sexual trauma, childhood trauma, general anxiety, sports performance anxiety, and depression. I feel my many years of experience affords me the professional knowledge and skill set needed to assist my clients in their therapeutic journey.

Elizabeth Vah is a clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience working with adults, children, and families. After completing a bachelor’s degree in clinical social work from UT-Austin, Elizabeth received a master’s in Social Work at the University of Texas. She completed her internship as a medical social worker at Brackenridge Hospital, also known as University Medical Center. She practiced as a clinician in Florida at the Institute for Child and Family Health before returning to Austin where she worked for Integral Care providing mental health services in clinic settings. She began her private practice in 2022. Over the course of her career, Elizabeth has primarily specialized in working with folks struggling with depression, anxiety, difficult life transitions, grief, chronic stress, and trauma. She has incorporated a wide range of treatment models into her practice.

I am a compassionate EMDR trained psychotherapist who values my clients' time. This career path became of interest to me after my time in the military, where I saw many of my friends' lives destroyed by PTSD. I am now committed to healing and advocacy work for veterans and civilians alike suffering from mental health conditions.
