I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I’m licensed in two states, California, and Georgia. I am also currently pursuing my license in a third state, Florida. I have been a social worker for 20 years, 16 of which have been in the mental health field. I was in the military for 10 years and discharged as an Army Captain. I also have a second master’s degree in educational counseling and a pupil personnel services (PPS) credential. I have many years of experience in the areas of social work, counseling/therapy, career development, and upper management. I have had the opportunity to work for government, educational, non-profit, and profit/private organizations. I have expertise working in the areas of sexual assault, domestic violence, military sexual trauma, childhood trauma, general anxiety, sports performance anxiety, and depression. I feel my many years of experience affords me the professional knowledge and skill set needed to assist my clients in their therapeutic journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will do introductions. I will explain how the counseling process works from start to finish. We will discuss background information and challenges related to your experiences, and then create a treatment plan that best meets your needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked in the social work and mental health field for 20 years, I have developed a client-focused approach when helping individuals. I create a treatment plan and process that's specific to the individual client. I do not believe in the cookie cutter way of doing therapy. Each client is unique and comes with their own specific challenges. So, I create a plan that is specific to you and your challenges.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My primary treatment modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused, and client-centered therapy. I have many years of experience utilizing these treatment methods. As they are effective, evidence-based practices, that have proven to be most effective when providing brief therapy. I utilize CBT to help client better understand how their thoughts, feelings, and actions all influence each other. As it's vital to recognize the pattern of self-defeating thoughts to change that process. I utilized solution-focused therapy to assist in that change process by helping the client focus more on solutions rather than the problem. Most importantly, I am focused on where the client is in the healing process. The goal is to help clients live a productive life with less anxiety and stress.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I utilize the solution focused therapy to enhance client's problem-solving skills and help them focus on creating viable solutions to their problems.
