I am a husband, father, and twin brother (I have and identical twin sister). I am also a reiki master and hypnotherapist. When I am not conducting psychotherapy (talk therapy), I enjoy conducting past life regressions to help people resolve past life trauma. I also use hypnotherapy to heal trauma. Hypnotherapy is not covered by most insurances and may result in cash pay. I enjoy helping people identify their wants and needs so they can then identify their goals and dreams. I believe we all have had experiences that have stifled our self-confidence which then causes us to doubt our ability. I enjoy helping people discover that part of themselves that is hidden as a result. I believe the world is a collective of people. We need to take care of ourselves, each other, and the animals we share this planet with.
At the initial assessment, I have to collect background information to understand your experience and how we can work as a team to help you reach your goals, but I want to get to know you; your wants, needs, and desires. I want to know who your biggest support in childhood was, and who is your biggest support now. I also expect you to ask me questions, if we are going to be a team, I need you to have expectations of me as your support person and therapist.
I have been told by clients that I am empathetic, that I really listen, and work to understand them. I think my own childhood experience in this. Also, being of the LGBTQ community, I have other experiences that have helped me empathize in that area.
I enjoy working with people who are resolving trauma, LGBTQ, or have any stressor that is keeping them from actualizing their potential and achieving their goals or dreams.
I was trained in Person-centered therapy since the grad school level. Every person wants to be heard, seen, validated, and accepted. You are the keeper of your experience and respecting that as your therapist is key.
I have been working with trauma since beginning my internship working with children for six years and continued in private practice. I have worked with men, women, and children who have experienced sexual, emotional, and physical trauma.
Culturally sensitive therapy is something my grad program emphasized due to the influence culture has on values, beliefs, conflicts in relationships with people of a different culture (such as intimate relationships), religious or spiritual practices that can be utilized as coping skills to help manage symptoms. I use these considerations to inform care to help you reach your therapeutic and personal goals.
I use hypnotherapy to remove defense mechanisms and survival strategies preventing progress in treatment. This method of treatment is NOT covered by most insurances and may require cash payment.
As a transman who transitioned 14 years ago, I know first-hand importance of needing a therapist who would support me on my journey. Whether cisgendered or trans, non-binary, queer or other identifying, it is important to help my clients feel seen, heard, validated and supported. You as the client are the keeper of your experience, and it is my job to honor that.
