Hi, I'm a licensed therapist that went to LaSalle University in Philadelphia Pa. I have a Master's degree and have been in counseling for over 25 years. I help adults that are experiencing anxiety and depression or those who have sufferd with loss. I also work with those having symptoms of anger. This could include those in relationships or couples.
In our first session, initially we will build rapport. I want you to tell me what has been going on with you. I don't want you to feel uncomfortable or like you are giving up your past to someone you don't know. I believe in a trust based relationship and we will go at your pace as you are comfortable in the setting.
I have has over 25 years working as a Therapist and have worked in Crisis Centers and in three different state jails for adults and a juvenile facility as a therapist. I have also worked as a Director with eight staff under me serving various populations that were experiencing anxiety and /or depression as well as anger issues. . My greatest strengths is the empathy and training that clients can benefit from.
The clients that would benefit from my practice will have self esteem issues and poor self care. These clients will be ready to give up on themselves and go into a deep depression or have anxiety that can lead to panic attacks or other health issues. I also am empathetic to those that are experiencing loss in their lives and need to work through the shock of the loss and what affects their grief. I would teach them how to take care of themselves at this time and realize they are doing the best that they can. We would work through some emotional regulation processes and sadness that is prolonged than that warranted by any objective reason.
I have a positive and holiatic approach to therapy. I have a person centered approach , meaning we go at their speed to alleviate symtoms that are causing the feelings and behaviors they are experiencing.
I will work with clients with CBT interventions and follow up with them as we work through them
We will work through the problems with some DBT interventions and see if we can work out the issues causing the conflicts in the relationship. I have had many couples in relationships that have benefitted from this modality. They will be given homework also.
I will work through the grief process with empathy. We will work on the shock of loss, what affects their grief, and coping methods that are right for the person at this time.
