I have been a therapist for seven years. One of my core beliefs is the importance of educating individuals to understand the mental health conditions they are faced with. Empowering them to understand who they are and decrease the stigma they face in society, their community, and in their own family settings. I believe in taking the journey with my clients.
In our first session I take the time to introduce myself, as I feel it is important for my clients to know who I am and be comfortable working with me. I then offer the opportunity for clients to share their purpose and desires for being in session.
Having worked in social services and mental health for a total of 30 yrs. I bring with me an array of experiences but also great empathy and understanding to life. I am a therapist who uses my own life experiences to push me forward.
I enjoy working with clients who are genuinely seeking to improve their lives through the avenue of counseling. I love to see when the client's life begins to go in the direction that they desire.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy has been known to be quite effective in supporting clients' ability to reflect on their thoughts, actions, and changes they would like to see in their lives.
Solutions-Focused Brief Treatment helps clients to focus on the solutions instead of the problem. With this treatment method client can quickly reach the specific solution that is most appropriate for the issues they are faced with.
I genuinely enjoy using Narrative Therapy, as clients can connect with their values and culture by writing their own stories.
