Hello There! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based out of New Jersey. For 6 years I have provided culturally competent services to adults and couples. I utilize a collaborative approach to help clients recognize and manage situations that are causing distress to current functioning. I create a safe space for clients to feel heard, to feel empowered, and to become motivated toward being the creators of change within their lives.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session will consist of each of us getting to know each other in order to build rapport. My approach is to build a safe and judgment free environment to empower the client that they are the creator and driving force toward the change they desire. My goal is for the client to feel comfortable and motivated to wanting to change their life for the better.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My biggest strength as a provider is making clients feel comfortable with opening up. I also do a significant amount of processing with my clients which helps the client to not only understand the behaviors that are causing distress but to implement solutions that will help clients manage consistently. I am my client's biggest cheerleader.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with a client who is are new to therapy as I enjoy empowering and instilling hope for the future. As a first generation Liberian American, it has helped me to understand how culture and family of origin influences an individual blueprint to life. I enjoy working with clients who are ready for change, but is open to listening and having meaningful conversations on different perspectives and how it can positively impact the client's current functioning.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavior Therapy is the preferred method to help clients to process their thoughts and understand how the thoughts impact behavior that is impacting current functioning.

Strength-Based

Strength based is a great method to help the client focus on their abilities rather than deficits. It can also be a great motivational method when experiencing negative thoughts and low self esteem issues.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

This method is used to help clients recognize they have the ability to change their current circumstances. I utilize this method to help clients focus on solutions to the problem that will lead to a positive impact, while managing distress that the problem has caused to their functioning.
