About me

I was born and raised in the great city South Los Angeles, Ca. I believe it is important to break generational trauma in addition to learning healthy coping skills to manage personal and familial conflict. I have experience working with adolescents, teens and adults utilizing interventions from cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy and mindfulness practices. I believes that therapy is not a “cookie cutter” approach and all clients deserve individualized services that provide opportunities for reflection and growth. I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Children and Families from the University of Southern California. (Fight On!) I also have a background in both Community and School-Based Mental Health programs, working with depression, anxiety and stress management. Outside of work, I absolutely love singing off key in the car and reading books in my spare time.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll kick things off with some quick introductions—just enough so we’re not total strangers—and then dive into whatever life’s been throwing your way. From there, I’ll whip up a personalized game plan to tackle those challenges in our follow-up sessions. Think of me as your co-pilot on this wild ride!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe everyone has strengths and this is key to overcoming any challenges we may be experiencing. My goal is to help you tap into your super power and grow skills that you already posses. Sometimes we need to create new skills and habits - and we can figure that out together all while building a healthier version of ourselves. I believe humor, compassion, directness and having an open mind are some of my biggest strengths.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with folks who are ready to roll up their sleeves and tackle life's curveballs head-on. My clients are motivated to level up, but just need a few more tools in their toolbox to reach those personal goals—kind of like showing up to build a house with only a spork. We've all been there!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is like a mental toolbox to help manage depression and anxiety by changing how you think and act. Here's how: Identify Negative Thoughts: Notice unhelpful thoughts that trigger anxiety or depression. Challenge Them: Ask if they're based on facts or assumptions. Find a kinder, more realistic way to look at the situation. Replace Thoughts: Swap negative thoughts for balanced ones that feel more helpful and true. Behavioral Activation: For depression, set small, enjoyable goals to boost mood and motivation. Exposure: For anxiety, gradually face fears to build confidence. Practice: Keep using these tools to build new, healthier habits

Strength-Based

Using a strength-based approach in therapy means focusing on a your strengths, abilities, and resources instead of just their problems. It’s about empowering you to use what’s already working well in your life to overcome challenges.
