James Long
As a License Professional Counselor, I have been in practice for 20 years. I have worked in public school sector and private practice working with children and adults. My goal is to help people identify and change troubling emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in a judge-free environment.
Having worked with children and adults for the past 20 years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping them (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
I believe therapy is a journey and a process to learn to look at any situation as a learning experience to help themselves and gain knowledge to help others in the future.
First session
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. I always tell my clients that therapy is not about right or wrong but finding peace within themselves.

Ideal clients
My career started in college as an after-school counselor for at risk youth. From that point on, I love working with young professionals who are in the first few years of their careers. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about their careers.
