I like to start by asking what their expectations are and what experience they have with therapy so I may better understand the best practice for working with them. I will also introduce myself and speak to my background

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a LCSW I engage clients where they are and build an alliance together to better understand where they are coming from and where they would like to be. Utilizing CBT better helps individuals to understand their patterns and how to change them over time to experience the outcomes they desire

Motivational Interviewing

I have been utilizing motivational interviewing in my practice to assess my clients interest and confidence in change and what they feel they are able to do at each step of therapy
