Welcome to P.A.M. Counseling, LLC! P.A.M. stands for peace and mindfulness, in honor of my late mother who struggled silently with mental illness her entire life. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Bowie State University. Immediately after, I obtained my Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I am an Approved Clinical Supervisor. I have obtained multiple certificates, which include but are not limited to: Trauma-Focused CBT, Clinical Supervision, Telemental Health, and Child-Parent Psychotherapy. When I am not working, I am spending time with my daughters, traveling, and enjoying new experiences with my family. I am willing to drive long distances to try new restaurants because I am a firm believer that food is good for the soul.
In our first session we will start by introductions, exploring the reasons why you are seeking therapy, and establishing positive rapport.
The capacity to listen intentionally, be nonjudgmental, empathize, and provide support.
I use an integrated approach that focuses specifically on your needs. I use techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and strength- based strategies to initiate healing and wellness. I understand that you are unique, and it is very important to incorporate the approach that best works for you.
