Hi! I'm a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist(LMFT) based in California. I received my Masters from National University and have been licensed since 2017, however I have been in mental health treatment field since 1999. I help adults struggling with feelings of being overwhelmed, angry, experiencing stress/burnt out, feeling "stuck", struggling in relationships, or wanting to work on themselves. These areas cause so much turmoil in our lives, and addressing them can have such a powerful impact. I work with clients to first accept where they are at, no judgment, no "shoulds", and then work from there to make positive changes. To be your best self without fear. Whatever you are going through I am here to help.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions, answer any questions you have, and then dive into an assessment so I can get to know what you are struggling with and what your strengths are. And yes, you have strengths, even if you can't always see them. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions to start seeing progress.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My extensive experience with adults and couples have helped me see so many things and how to help with them. My passion is providing a safe and nonjudgmental place for you to share and truly be yourself. I know there is no single approach that works for everyone, we usually don't fit into just one box, as such I utilize a range of modalities to individualize treatment to what works for you, at your pace.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My clients are usually hard workers and are self critical. They expect so much out of themselves, and don't feel like they are ever enough. People pleasers that are frustrated they can't please everyone, are often tired and frustrated with where life is going compared to where they wish it was. They often have relationships that could be better, whether starting, maintaining, or ending. They are tired of struggling and/or being angry, and they are ready to make a change, to be part of the solution. They want to have better control of their anxiety, emotions, anger, and also learn to be in the moment instead of in their head. I can help you get to where you want to be.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I work with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is an action-oriented approach where clients can learn to stop avoiding, denying, and struggling with their inner emotions. I have worked with this modality to help clients for the past three years. I work to help clients to recognize their deeper thoughts and emotions and that clients are doing the best they can with the situation. With this acceptance there can be less blame and more freedom to move commit to moving forward to make positive changes. I’ve seen clients grow significantly through this modality with acceptance and compassion, and as a result have a significant reduction in symptoms.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for ten plus years. It’s helped so many of my clients challenge reoccurring negative thoughts to limit the control they have of their thoughts. I teach my clients to use CBT to recognize how their thoughts, lead to feelings, which lead to behaviors. I help clients to use this knowledge to empower them to make positive changes in their life. With this empowerments there is a reduction of anxiety, feelings of being overwhelmed, stress, hopelessness, difficulty with sleep, anger outbursts, and many other symptoms.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I work with Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) which is designed to help people create solutions for their situations by focusing on their strengths and creating a plan to achieve their goals. I have been using this approach for more than ten years and have worked with hundreds of clients to move out of the problem and into the solution. I work with clients to identify their strengths, focus on their future, determine what they want their life to look like, and move towards that future which helps clients to reduce anxiety, feelings of being overwhelmed, and several other symptoms.
