(she/her)
Hi, I’m Deborah. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Pennsylvania, and I’m here to support you through life’s challenges with care and understanding. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and later completed a Master’s in Counseling from Missio Seminary. For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside adults as they navigate anxiety, depression, school or work related stress and burnout, role and/or relationship changes, grief and loss, and life’s many transitions. I strive to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and not alone—where we can work together at your pace toward healing and growth.
In our first session, we’ll begin by getting to know each other and creating a space where you can feel comfortable sharing your story. From there, we’ll gently explore the challenges you’re facing, as well as the strengths you bring with you. I’ll also ask about what you’re hoping to gain from therapy, so we can shape our work around what matters most to you. Together, we’ll begin creating a path forward—one that supports your well-being and helps you move toward feeling better.
One of my greatest priorities is creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I approach therapy with compassion, curiosity, and hope, honoring you as a whole person. I draw from evidence-based and integrative approaches, tailoring our work together to support meaningful growth and healing—both within yourself and in your relationships.
I work with college aged individuals, young professionals, individuals with autism, in every stage of life who are navigating emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual challenges. I also support those experiencing spiritual struggles, including feelings of disconnection from their faith, questions of meaning, guilt, shame, or difficulty reconciling life experiences with their beliefs. As a Christian counselor, I provide a faith-informed, client-centered approach that integrates clinical best practices with biblical principles when desired by the client. I aim to create a safe and supportive space where clients can pursue emotional healing, spiritual growth, and greater clarity in their relationship with God, themselves, and others.
Faith based therapy
I use a client-centered approach, ensuring that faith is only incorporated when it aligns with the client’s preferences and goals. This can involve discussing spiritual struggles, processing questions about meaning or suffering, and identifying ways their beliefs can support healing and resilience. When appropriate, I may integrate practices such as reflection, prayer, or scripture in a way that feels comfortable and respectful to the client. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where clients can explore both their mental health and spiritual well-being, helping them build insight, find balance, and move toward growth in a way that honors their whole identity.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a highly effective, evidence-based treatment approach that focuses on identifying and modifying unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. In sessions, I use CBT to help clients recognize and challenge negative beliefs, develop healthier cognitive patterns, and adopt constructive coping strategies.
Attachment-based
I use an attachment-based approach to therapy, focusing on how early relationships shape patterns of connection, emotional regulation, and self-understanding. In our work together, I help clients explore how past attachment experiences may influence current relationships, while creating a safe, supportive space where new, more secure ways of relating can develop. I integrate this perspective with practical tools to strengthen emotional awareness, build resilience, and foster healthier, more fulfilling connections.
