Robyn Freeman
Welcome! I'm Robyn and glad you're here. Have you ever experienced feeling overwhelmed? Feeling like a failure for not being able to handle it all and get things done? Is there trouble shutting off your brain at night despite feeling exhausted every morning? Or perhaps it's hard to even get out of bed and you're not sure why? I can help provide feedback and tools to help manage anxiety, depressed mood and help you avoid burnout. Together, we can identify what has gotten off track and work to get you back to feeling like yourself. We'll start with what you're comfortable with and celebrate progress along the way. To accomplish some of this I integrate a variety of approaches which may include cognitive behavioral, solution focused mindfulness, as well as building on your interests such as reading, walking or listening to music to help you manage each day. Whether you're dealing with feeling overwhelmed, life stressors, relationship issues or symptoms of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but my goal is to alleviate that with an empathetic and supportive environment. You are the expert on yourself and my goal is to come alongside and offer support. In our sessions together, we'll check in on what's been challenging and offer some strategies to try outside of sessions and provide a place for you to vent and get things unstuck. Therapy doesn't have to be forever, but getting started is sometimes the hardest part. Looking forward to hearing from you!
First session
Our initial session is an opportunity to get to know each other and begin to feel more comfortable. We'll start with basic demographic type questions and have an opportunity to hear more about what's bringing you to therapy and what you'd like to work on. My goal is to give plenty of time and space for questions and to ensure you are utilizing the time in therapy toward what's most pertinent to your well being. I like to provide some skills to try outside of sessions to help build upon what we are focusing on together. This isn't required, but may include worksheets, videos, relaxation exercises or simply observing the way the wind moves outside and being still. My goal is for sessions to conclude with a clear goal moving forward into the new week.
Strengths
I have provided parenting education classes, family therapy, couples therapy and individual therapy and enjoy the opportunity to come alongside each individual and offer support. I enjoy working with adults and young adults, those experiencing stressors due to changes in relationship status, career change, parenting education information, and young adults entering the workplace or living independently for the first time and support for those experiencing anxiety and depressive symptoms.
