Jill Ridens
I am here to support your goals in treatment. My goal is to make you comfortable in sharing what you are going through and what you need. Medication management takes time and patience in finding the right medications that work for you. I care about my people and will research current and new information for you. If you are seeking ADHD medication, I require verification of an ADHD diagnosis prior to prescribing medication. I can complete paperwork for various disabilities, but if you are requesting short-term disability, completion of paperwork will be based on my assessment there is no guarantee that I will recommend taking time off and paperwork may not be signed. I specialize in medication management for a variety of mental health conditions. I have over 18 years of experience in nursing and over a decade of experience in nutrition, I have maintained my license as a Registered Dietitian. I like to look at the whole person and approach ways to improve your symptoms. I am here to support you in your mental health.

First session
During our first session, we’ll spend some time reviewing your physical and mental health history so I can better understand how to support you. I know this can feel like a lot to go through, so we’ll take it step by step. If you’re able, bringing a list of past and current medications can be really helpful, but we can also work through that together. I will explain the various options that are available based on your needs and review dosing, side effects and any special medical conditions or age-related needs.
Strengths
One of my key strengths is offering a calm, supportive presence. Clients often share that my voice helps them feel more at ease, which creates a safe space for open conversation and meaningful progress.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are individuals who have identified personal goals, are seeking additional emotional or practical support, and are ready to engage in a collaborative, client-centered process. Using a combination of Motivational Interviewing and supportive treatment methods, I help clients strengthen motivation, build confidence, and develop sustainable strategies for change. I follow the client’s lead in tone and adjust my use of humor based on their comfort level.
Treatment methods
Motivational Interviewing
“I have experience using motivational interviewing techniques to support individuals in making positive behavioral changes. In my interactions, I focus on building rapport through empathy and active listening. For example, I use open-ended questions to help clients explore their goals and any ambivalence they may feel about change. I also apply reflective listening to validate their experiences and affirm their strengths, which helps build confidence and trust. In practice, I’ve used motivational interviewing to guide conversations around topics such as health behaviors, medication adherence and personal goal-setting. Rather than giving direct advice, I aim to help individuals identify their own motivations and develop realistic, self-directed plans for change. This approach has helped foster greater engagement and accountability.
Supportive
A supportive treatment method is about creating a safe, empathetic environment where a person feels heard and reinforced. My goal is for you to feel supported in achieving the goals you have set for yourself.
