Hello and thank you for taking the time out of your day to learn a little about me! I received my bachelor's degree in psychology (2015) and master's degree in counseling psychology (2017) from Cal-Poly Humboldt. I am a client centered therapist who has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families struggling with a diverse set of mental health challenges, such as anxiety, anger, family conflict, relational conflict, communication issues, and men’s issues.
Therapy can evoke feelings of discomfort, unfamiliarity, and even fear, especially for those who were not accustomed to openly discussing emotions, thoughts, and personal narratives while growing up. I firmly believe that every individual holds expertise over their own life, thus possessing the right to share, explore, and glean insights from their unique experiences. In my role as a therapist, I strive to guide each client through their personal hero's journey. By honoring their individual trials, tribulations, and triumphs, we foster a profound sense of understanding and self-acceptance. I am deeply committed to supporting clients from diverse backgrounds as they confront challenges and uncover their genuine passions. It is an immense privilege to accompany individuals on their paths to empowerment and self-compassion, witnessing their remarkable growth firsthand.
My core strengths lie in compassion, dignity, transparency and a nonjudgmental approach. I am committed to accompanying you on your hero's journey, whether it involves following your lead or providing guidance, depending on your needs throughout the therapeutic process. My goal is to discern the unique needs of each client and utilize a diverse array of modalities to support them in their journey towards recovery. I firmly believe that true fulfillment lies in aiding others and facilitating their voyage of self-discovery.
I am passionate about helping those seeking to gain more self awareness, deepen their relationships and communication abilities, and healing past traumas. My specialties include people working through new transitions, family and rational stressors, first generational challenges, men’s issues, high-anxiety and anger issues.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and address negative thought patterns and beliefs that lead to emotional distress. By replacing these patterns with healthier thoughts and behaviors, clients develop coping strategies and achieve long-term change.
I employ Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to aid clients in fostering acceptance and altering thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that lead to distress. My approach focuses on teaching practical skills for managing emotions, enhancing relationships, and cultivating mindfulness. Through techniques like mindfulness meditation, emotion regulation, interpersonal skills, and distress tolerance, DBT helps individuals construct a more fulfilling life.
I guide clients to identify their strengths and develop practical solutions to their challenges. With a focus on the present and future, I help clients envision their desired outcomes and take concrete steps towards achieving them. Through collaboration and empowerment, I strive to facilitate positive change and support clients in reaching their goals.
