Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who practices in California. I am Latinx and fluent in Spanish, I have been in practice for over 15 years and have extensive experience in treating trauma, depression, anxiety and other mental health issues. I like to practice using a decolonized lens and to be creative with my interventions so that they include your values and worldview.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, talk about the challenges you are facing and how you have been coping with these, and explore what you hope to get out of treatment. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am culturally competent and trauma-informed and continue to engage in trainings and practices that will help increase my knowledge and skills to support others with their recovery. I practice through a social justice and decolonized lens.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with diverse communities and individuals who would like to improve their self-esteem, their relationships, and want relief from the emotional pain that is impacting their overall functioning.

My treatment methods

Somatic

I am trained in Somatic therapy through the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute and have over 5 years of experience supporting individuals with healing from past and current trauma(s). Somatic therapy is a body-oriented approach that focuses on relieving symptoms of stress and traumatic shock that may stay stuck in our bodies. As a trauma-informed therapist I will gently guide you in increasing tolerance to process difficult bodily sensations and suppressed emotions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Over 10 years of experience providing support to individuals with identifying thought patterns that may be causing issues in their lives and adapting alternative coping mechanisms to better help manage emotional, behavioral and cognitive distress.

She's the best. I find that having a change in perspective and the way you view life is a difficult thing to accomplish in therapy but critical to a better wellbeing. Gloria consistently does this with poise, and compassion. I never write reviews, but this one was absolutely necessary.
