Hey there! My name is Taleah, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania, who is here to help you move towards your goals. My counseling career started in 2010 where I focused on working with primarily adults dealing with addiction, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, family conflict and other mental health concerns. I provide a warm, welcoming, and supportive space that allows individuals to show up as themselves. The overall goal for most is the pursuit of happiness and life fulfilment. Often stressors resulting from anxiety, past trauma, separations, life changes and addiction (amongst other things) interfere with reaching happiness. Life is about progress not perfection! Being intentional with your thoughts and behaviors are ways that will get you closer to your goal. Utilizing a variety of therapeutic strategies allows me the flexibility to treat each client as an individual. With over 14 years of experience, I am confident that I can meet you where you are while helping you get to where you want to go!

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session will consist of exchanging introductions and our expectations of treatment; we will become acquainted with each other. This will be the foundation and beginning of our therapeutic relationship. Building rapport will assist with developing comfort and trust. I will ask questions and gather information including reason for enrollment and goals for therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength is my warm personality that allows individuals to feel comfortable with me. I treat individuals with respect providing a compassionate, welcoming and judgment free space allowing clients to feel comfortable to address challenging situations.

A client that is open to assistance, willingness to change, and eager to grow while gaining tool to help reach desired goals, is a client that is designed for me😊. I enjoy working with individuals who are willing to put in the work!

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

When it comes to behaviors, they are all driven by your perception, your thinking. I utilize CBT in session to assist with clients understanding the power of their thoughts and how their thinking impacts behaviors. We will utilize sessions to explore/challenge negative thinking patterns and unwanted behaviors; we will work to develop and implement healthy thinking patterns.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution focused techniques are used to assist with focusing on the solution rather than the problem. When utilized SFBT to assist the client with identifying strengths, effective goal setting, measurable goals, and optimism. It is goal-oriented, and strength based. It helps individuals to be "intentional" towards the changes that are striving for in their life.
