I am licensed in Virginia with 6 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with parent/child issues, motivation, self esteem and confidence, and coping with life changes. As a mom of a teenager, I understand some of the stressors teens face today and am motivated to work with clients to navigate these often confusing or stressful times. I work with clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment for healing and healthy well-being. I believe you are the expert on you, and I am thrilled to join you on this journey of healing, finding purpose, and gaining the ability to grow from your experience.
In the first session, after introductions of course, I will invite you to share your expectations and goals for therapy. We will, if applicable, explore what has been helpful in past therapy or what current coping skills are working. I will encourage and uplift you for taking this step to sign up for therapy, for having the courage to seek help.
I believe my biggest strength is understanding you are the expert in the space. I am here at your invitation, to assist you with gaining insight into behaviors or thoughts that are causing distress within yourself and with close relationships.
I enjoy working with individuals and couples who are having stress in their interpersonal lives resulting from an unhealed traumatic event or stressor either in the past or that they are experiencing currently. Clients who are open to talk therapy to explore patterns of behaviors or interactions with others and gain insight into the root of the behaviors or thoughts.
