New to Grow
Hi! I'm Cassie! I have been working in the field of mental health for more than 15 years, providing therapy for the past 6 years. I have experience working with individuals of all ages, couples and families. My intention is to always create a space that feels safe to explore concerns, stressors and problems, helping to work with you to build your skill set to manage anything life throws your way. I understand the importance of healthy connections - both in the therapy session and your every day life and will help to develop the skills to build relationships that feel supportive.
Our first session will be a chance to get to know one another, beginning to explore how I can best support you in your healing journey. We will work on goal setting to help ensure we are working on the things that are important and meaningful to you. I want to make sure that we're focusing on the things that bring you to therapy! If you've been in therapy before, it would also be a chance to explore things that you did (and didn't like), so that I can help make sure that we're working together in a way that feels safe and comfortable.
I bring empathy, a desire to understand and compassion to sessions. I haven't been in your shoes, so I won't judge choices you've had to make during the really difficult periods of your life. Other clients have noted that they have enjoyed being able to laugh and have a space to be without judgment!
I have a specialization in working with children and adolescents, as well as a history of providing individual and family therapy. While I feel comfortable addressing and working with a variety of issues, much of my experience connects with treatment of anxiety, depression, life transitions and navigating peer/family and other relationship contexts. An attachment framework is always used, due to the importance and value that having safe and healthy connections can have.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I use empathy and acceptance to help facilitate a therapeutic relationship that feels safe and comfortable to explore and process stressors in your life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT/DBT techniques can be utilized to help provide in-the-moment coping skills and tools that can be used to help with stressors and negative thought cycles.
Attachment-based
Experiencing safe and healthy connections with others is an importance facet in everyone's life!
