(she/her)
Hello! Nice to meet you. I'm Adilene and I began my career in the mental health field in 2015 because I profoundly believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to create a fulfilling and emotionally healthy life. I hope to inspire others to utilize their inherent strengths, build meaningful support systems, and develop practical skills that promote lasting change and personal growth. I am driven by a deep commitment to helping individuals overcome generational trauma and break free from cycles of pain and suffering. Advocacy, growth, and integrity are the principles that guide my work in the mental health field. I am a first generation daughter of immigrant parents. On a personal level, my own journey through adversity and growth has provided me with empathy and insight into the challenges my clients may face. Whether navigating life transitions, managing stress, or confronting generational patterns, I understand the courage and vulnerability it takes to engage with a therapist.
In our first session known as the intake, my clients can expect a collaborative and insightful conversation where we begin mapping where you are today and when things may have shifted. I create a space where you feel understood without judgement. You can expect curiosity, validation and compassion as we establish our treatment goals. Over time, we may explore the relational patterns or intergenerational themes influencing your life.
My greatest strengths lie in being a builder. We build insight where there was confusion. We build tools when fear or guilt feels paralyzing. We build trust through consistency, curiosity and compassion for all parts of you. When you feel stuck in challenges, I am here to help. I look forward to meeting you and moving at your pace to build something new. See you at intake.
In my practice, I find fulfillment in working with a diverse range of communities, including LGBTQ+ individuals, immigrant families, and college students. I am committed to providing culturally competent and affirming care to all those I serve. I have had the privilege of supporting individuals from various cultural backgrounds through life transitions and psychosocial stressors.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I help clients use ACT to develop a healthy relationship with uncomfortable thoughts and emotions. We focus on values based action so we can move towards the type of life you want when anxiety, guilt or doubt may be present.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify thought patterns, beliefs and behaviors that are harmful towards their self-worth and identity. Together we build practical tools to that make daily stress feel more manageable.
Strength-Based
I approach therapy from the belief that people already possess insight and inherent strengths. I can help you recognize patterns of survival and capability so you can build evidence for resilience while leaving maladaptive strategies behind.
