LP, 15 years of experience
Everyone can have a good life. Sometimes we get in our own way. Sometimes our biology betrays us. Sometimes the actions of others or of the larger system block or derail us. Often we do not understand what is wrong or why, but we know we are capable of more – more joy, more achievement, more intimacy, more satisfaction. I can and want to help you reach your goals. I am a seasoned clinical psychologist with broad experience working with teens thru adults. In addition to private practice, I have worked at top-tier universities, non-profits, addiction centers, and jails. I will treat you with respect and acceptance. I integrate various therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behavioral (CBT), dialectical (DBT), acceptance and commitment (ACT), psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based. We will work together in a way that suits your needs and helps improve your life in the short and long term. I earned my bachelor’s degree in molecular biology at Princeton University and my doctorate in psychology at Rutgers Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. If you have any questions about me or what to expect from therapy, feel free to reach out. I am happy to have a brief conversation to learn more about you.
In our first session, our primary goal will be to get to know each other and determine whether we are a good fit. I will listen to what brings you in and you will have the opportunity to ask me questions about my background, experience, and how I work. The first session is a conversation aimed at setting the foundation for a strong working relationship.
Clients and colleagues tell me my non-judgmental attitude, genuine concern, extensive education, and therapeutic experience, combine to make me a very effective and compassionate provider of mental health services. I look forward to talking with you.
I have no one ideal client. Anyone who wants to take an honest look at themselves and their lives and is willing to consider change is someone I would consider an honor to work with.
