Treatment methods

Trauma-Informed Care

trauma and stress on the brain and nervous system, and the way in which it influences attachment styles, emotion regulation, communication, relational dynamics and ultimately how secure they feel with themselves and others. I apply trauma-informed principles and interventions to emphasize the clients resilience and strength while working to improve emotional regulation skills, increase distress tolerance, and develop effective coping skills to help them heal and grow.

Humanistic

I utilize a humanistic approach through creating a safe, empathic, non-judgmental space in which a client feels seen, heard and validated. I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy and unconditional positive regard, which provides the space for clients to explore their emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and experience in order to strengthen their sense of self. As the client develops greater insight and self-awarerness they are able to identify their strengths and work towards making meaningful changes which align with their values and meet their personal needs.

Eclectic

I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet the clients individual needs. Incorporate motivational interviewing and collaborate with the client in identifying treatment goals and then use a variety of approaches throughout the course of therapy while monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments.
