Hello! My name is Newzaira, which translates to someone who see's the good in others. Do you feel that at times you struggle with finding deeper meaning to life? Or that little things can trigger a large emotional response? Is it hard to draw kindness to your experiences and others around you? I help Muslims and those seeking spirituality to manage anxiety, depression, and trauma. Together, we can embark on the journey towards Salaam (Peace). We'll use a whole-self approach by identifying your spiritual, mental, and physical needs. I also integrate mindfulness and contemplation as a way to develop a stronger relationship with yourself. Whether you're dealing with an existential crisis, difficulties within relationships, grief, trauma, I'm here to help. In our sessions, I'll meet you with compassion, humor, kindness, and humility. You deserve a safe space to be your authentic self while still being able to be grow. Let's do this together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will get to know the presenting reason to why you are seeking therapy and then provide insight on my approach and then begin to explore if we're a good fit.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is working in the lens of humility, I feel that anyone that I encounter can teach me something new and that I can also contribute to the conversation and provide insight to help draw meaning to pain and suffering. One verse that really guides my practice is "Verily with hardship comes ease".

My treatment methods

Faith based therapy

As a practicing Muslim, I will take the time to incorporate Islamic and Sufi Psychology approaches to better meet the needs of Muslim clients.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Understanding the interconnection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors is foundational to developing a stronger self-awareness to negative symptoms.

EMDR

When in need of additional treatment for trauma, this approach will help us reprocess difficult memories, sensations, and feelings. In addition, this process can help with those emotions that are stored within our body.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Bringing forth how to stay in the present is how we can focus on staying grounded within the moment.

Brainspotting

"Where you look, affects how you feel". The eyes hold a lot of information and thus when in need trauma treatment, this approach will bring forward an additional layer of psychosomatic processing. This process can help with processing through the information processed by the eyes that can linger within the brain.
