I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in school-based mental health, crisis support, family engagement, and helping people build practical coping tools for everyday life. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that people are more than the challenges they are facing. In therapy, I aim to create a space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported, while also working toward meaningful growth and change. I often support clients in understanding patterns, managing anxiety and stress, navigating life transitions, improving relationships, and building confidence in themselves. My style is compassionate and direct, with a focus on helping clients feel more grounded, capable, and connected to the life they want to create.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will focus on getting to know each other and beginning to understand what brings you to therapy. I will ask about your current concerns, relevant background, strengths, goals, and what you hope to get from our work together. You do not have to share everything all at once; we will move at a pace that feels comfortable and respectful. My goal in the first session is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and not judged. We will also talk about what therapy with me can look like, answer any questions you have, and begin identifying possible next steps. By the end of the session, my hope is that you leave with a clearer sense of direction and whether I feel like a good fit for your needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of the strengths I bring to therapy is the ability to be both compassionate and honest. I know from my own life and from my work with others that life can be heavy, complicated, and sometimes exhausting to keep pushing through. I also believe that people are capable of healing, growing, and finding their way forward with the right support, tools, and space to be fully seen. My style is warm, grounded, and collaborative. I can sit with clients in difficult emotions and hold space when that is what is needed, but I am also willing to gently challenge patterns, self-talk, or choices that may be keeping someone stuck. I do this with care, curiosity, and respect, not judgment. I bring a strengths-based, culturally responsive, and practical lens to my work. I understand that people are shaped by their relationships, identities, families, communities, and life experiences. As a Black male therapist, I also recognize the importance of creating a space where clients, especially those who may not always feel fully seen or understood in traditional therapy settings, can show up honestly and be met with care. My goal is to help clients feel understood as whole people while supporting them in building clarity, confidence, healthier coping skills, and a deeper belief that change is possible.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to support clients who are navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, family dynamics, school-related concerns, or difficulty coping with daily responsibilities. I enjoy working with adults, young adults, adolescents, and parents who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected from themselves, or unsure how to move forward. My ideal clients are open to reflection, interested in building practical coping tools, and willing to explore how their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and past experiences may be shaping their current patterns. I work well with clients who want therapy to feel supportive and honest, but also useful and action-oriented. Whether someone is managing anxiety, adjusting to a major life change, navigating parenting or family stress, or trying to better understand themselves, my goal is to help them feel more grounded, capable, and connected to the life they want to build.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients make sense of how their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and experiences are connected. Together, we may work on identifying patterns that feel stuck or unhelpful, challenging harsh or anxious thoughts, and practicing new coping strategies that support healthier choices. My use of CBT is collaborative, practical, and compassionate, helping clients build insight while also developing tools they can use outside of therapy.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients identify their goals, strengths, and the steps that can move them toward meaningful change. Rather than only focusing on what is wrong, we also explore what is already working, where progress has happened before, and how to build from those moments. This approach is collaborative, practical, and focused on helping clients create realistic movement in their lives.

Strength-Based

I use a strength-based approach to help clients recognize the resilience, skills, values, and wisdom they already carry. In therapy, this means we explore challenges without defining clients by their struggles, while also identifying the personal and community strengths that can support healing and growth. My goal is to help clients feel more empowered, capable, and connected to their own inner resources.

Trauma Informed Care

I use a trauma-informed approach by recognizing how past experiences, stress, relationships, and systems can shape the way people cope, connect, and move through the world. In practice, I focus on emotional safety, choice, collaboration, and helping clients better understand their responses without shame. My goal is to support clients in building stability, self-awareness, and coping tools while moving at a pace that feels respectful and grounded.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use mindfulness-based strategies to help clients slow down, notice what they are experiencing, and respond with more awareness instead of reacting automatically. This may include grounding exercises, breathwork, emotional awareness, and practices that support nervous system regulation. My goal is to help clients build tools for managing stress, anxiety, overwhelm, and difficult emotions in their daily lives.
