New to Grow
I am a therapist with over 25 years of experience and view therapy as a partnership where we work together to uncover patterns, build self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, and support you in reaching your personal and professional goals. I also offer career counseling and have extensive experience working with diverse, multicultural clients. My goal is to provide a caring, knowledgeable, and non-judgmental environment where you can feel safe, understood, and supported as you move toward healing and growth.
In the first session, I will provide a thorough intake process, where we will discuss what you want from being in therapy. I will provide an assessment of your mental health status, develop a treatment plan and provide therapeutic counseling to help you understand your feelings, emotions and behaviors. I will use cognitive tools and techniques to help you overcome your mental health challenges and improve your relationships and life.
I provide compassionate, evidence-based psychotherapy for teens and adults, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness-based Therapy. My approach is individualized, warm, collaborative, and practical.
An “ideal” client is less about personality or diagnosis and more about mindset and readiness and being consistent in follow through. I meet the clients whatever stage they are in. They don’t have to be fully open or even convinced therapy will work—but there’s a baseline willingness to show up, talk, and consider new perspectives. Even ambivalence can be worked with.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT helps me to map out how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact and use it as a working “roadmap” for treating clients. It helps me to challenge negative thoughts and use behavioral interventions to bring about needed changes in their lifestyle.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness based therapy helps me to bring awareness to client's present circumstances and focus their attention through structured exercises and learn to respond instead of reacting and effectively learn mindfulness in their daily lives.
