Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working in the field for nearly 20 years. I received my Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2005 and have worked with many different populations throughout my career. I primarily have focused on treating depression, anxiety, grief and trauma but also have experience working with patients with mood disorders such as Bipolar Disorder

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I generally want to focus on coping mechanisms during the first session after gaining a thorough background and understanding of the problem. I rely heavily on meditation and breathing techniques to cope with the thoughts that are contributing to the issues. Subsequent sessions can go deeper with understanding elements of the past and coping with fears about the future. I will always encourage patients to focus on coming back to the present in their ability to cope with difficult memories and emotions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with many different backgrounds through my career I feel I am very attune at recognizing how culture plays an impact on mental health. Also being able to create a game plan in how to approach future interactions or events that may be causing stress while tying it back to each person's unique history

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This form of treatment helps to change negative thoughts into more balanced and rational thoughts. Pairing this with meditation practices and breathing techniques can help instill them better into your thought process

EMDR

Very helpful for healing past trauma including abuse history or life threatening incidents

Grief Therapy

Processing grief can be very challenging to navigate the emotions that can come up after a loss. Though there is no specific time frame on improving grief I have a great deal of experience working with clients through this adjustment. Can also be helpful in processing break ups and divorce
