I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2004 and has had my RPT-S since 2008. I graduated in 2000 with a Master of Social Work with a focus on complex trauma, PTSD, and until recently play therapy. I also enjoy family therapy, working with all ages of clients from 10+ to adults. I truly believe we all have the ability inside of us to heal and will guide you along your journey, which is an honor.
In our first session I will get the "1000" foot view from you and learn more about you. It is a bit "formal" in that we both want to be sure I am a good fit for your needs. If there are things too difficult to go into that is fine, we will go at your pace. This is also an opportunity to get to know me a bit. I will cover the basics of virtual therapy and other "housekeeping" information you need to know. Follow up sessions will be more of the conversation we think of when we think of therapy. These sessions you will lead with what you want to or need to talk about in that session.
I believe we all have the ability to heal. Our past does not define us. We can only grow from here and I am honored to work with you. I am transparent and do not suggest client's try anything I have not done myself. I try to be transparent, warm, use humor but also provide empathy and a safe place to heal.
I have worked with a variety of clients in many settings, the home, schools, and outpatient. I currently do Telehealth Therapy and have really begun to enjoy it. I enjoy working with clients with many needs such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, family relationship issues, and self-esteem. I have a strong focus in training on trauma, work with survivors of sexual abuse, and is also a Certified Trained Adoption Therapist working with all parties impacted by adoption.

I have been psychodynamic trained and find this type of therapy to provide the client insight in underlying reasons for the symptoms they are often trying to manage. Additionally, I utilize DBT, CBT and client centered, attachment and trauma informed therapies as indicated as I don't think one size "fits all."
As a certified Adoption Competent Therapist attachment I use this method as our attachment styles can have a tremendous impact on our interpersonal relationships including romantic, friendships, jobs etc.
I specialize in CPTSD and PTSD which can include numerous traumatic events.
