New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over six years of experience working with children and adolescents. I am passionate about supporting young people as they navigate challenges, life transitions, and difficult seasons. My goal is to help children and teens build the skills they need to thrive at home, in school, and in their relationships. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I integrate these evidence-based approaches to support children and families in improving emotional well-being, strengthening coping skills, and creating meaningful change.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, I focus on creating a safe and welcoming environment where both the child and their family can share their concerns, needs, and hopes for therapy. Together, we will begin identifying goals for treatment and discuss how we can work collaboratively to support your child. Building trust and rapport is a priority for me, as feeling comfortable is an important first step in helping children engage in the therapeutic process.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I bring a calm, empathetic, and supportive presence to my work with children and families. I strive to meet each child where they are developmentally and emotionally, recognizing that opening up to someone new can take time. My approach focuses on helping children feel safe, understood, and supported while also learning tools to regulate their emotions and calm their nervous system.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I primarily work with children and adolescents ages 6–18 who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, or mental health concerns that may be affecting their mood, relationships, school experience, or overall well-being. Areas I commonly support include: ADHD Anxiety Depression Trauma and stress-related concerns Emotional regulation difficulties Challenging Behavior I partner closely with families to help children build confidence, resilience, and healthier coping strategies.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my work, I use evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help children and adolescents identify unhelpful thought patterns, regulate intense emotions, and build healthier coping behaviors. I focus on increasing self-awareness, strengthening emotional regulation skills, and helping young people develop more balanced, compassionate internal narratives. I integrate CBT with trauma-informed principles and emotion regulation strategies to ensure interventions are developmentally appropriate and sensitive to each child’s nervous system and lived experience. While CBT gives us the framework for understanding thoughts and behaviors, I don’t jump straight to changing thoughts. First, I help children learn how to calm their nervous system. Once they feel safe and regulated, we can explore thinking patterns and practice new coping skills.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to teach children and teens practical skills for managing big emotions. DBT focuses on helping young people tolerate distress, regulate their emotions, improve relationships, and make thoughtful choices instead of reacting impulsively.
