(she/her)
I am a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping adults and older adults find clarity, balance, and healing through compassionate, personalized mental health care. I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive therapy to address conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and chronic mental illness. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to take charge of your mental well-being.
I provide comprehensive, holistic care to help clients better understand their mental health through thorough evaluation and clear communication education. Clients can expect to leave sessions with a deeper understanding of their diagnosis, insight into how medications can support their goals, and a clear plan for moving forward. I create a supportive environment where questions are always welcome and take the time to explain treatment options so clients feel informed, respected, and actively involved in their care decisions.
One of my greatest strengths as a provider is communicating clearly and directly while staying grounded in compassion and respect. I believe education is empowering. Clients deserve to understand their mental health and feel confident in the decisions we make together about their care. I take a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to prescribing, always considering each person’s unique history, needs, and goals. Clients often tell me they value my direct, supportive style and the way I stay engaged throughout their care. I genuinely care about helping people feel better, make meaningful progress, and create lasting change.
I work best with adults who are open and curious about exploring their mental health. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I’m here to support your therapeutic journey with empathy, respect, and clinical expertise. My ideal clients value a collaborative relationship and appreciate open, honest conversations about treatment options, including how medication may or may not align with their personal goals and values. I particularly enjoy working with individuals who are motivated to take an active role in their care, even if they are unsure where to begin. For those seeking evaluation for attention-related concerns, formal ADHD testing is required before initiating stimulant medication. This ensures diagnostic accuracy and supports safe, responsible prescribing. I also follow an evidence-based approach to benzodiazepines, prescribing them only when clinically indicated and as part of a comprehensive, goal-oriented treatment plan. My goal is to deliver care that is ethical, thoughtful, and tailored to your unique needs. Together, we will create a path forward that feels informed, compassionate, and rooted in trust.

Tarra is the BEST provider I have found in my exhaustive search for psychiatric care. I cannot overstate how amazing she is! She is thorough, knowledgable, compassionate, and direct. Tarra is incredibly meticulous: accounting for physical health, medical health/history, mental health, and emotional health. I cannot overemphasize how extremely comprehensive she is. Tarra is so empathetic, she educated me on my care in depth. Because of her, I feel informed enough to advocate for myself if needed.

This was my first psychiatric appointment and I was understandably nervous. Tarra was warm, supportive, and answered all of my questions thoroughly. I felt heard and respected throughout the session. I appreciate her caring and professional approach.
