Greetings! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Maryland with a Master's degree from Bowie State University. I’ve been practicing as a therapist for three years and have over seven years of experience in the mental health field, working in areas such as case management, crisis intervention, addictions, and domestic violence. As a therapist, I like to think of myself as a driving instructor—you’re in the driver’s seat of your life, steering the way. My role is to provide support, guidance, and course correction when needed, helping you develop the skills to navigate life with confidence and purpose.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we’ll start with a quick introduction to get to know each other, then focus on the challenges you’re currently facing. From there, we’ll work together to create a personalized plan to guide us in future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, I believe my greatest strength is the ability to pivot when needed. Working with a variety of clients has taught me to recognize when something isn’t quite working or when an underlying issue needs attention. I strive to bring those hidden challenges to light so we can address them together.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

"Life be lifeing". Life is unpredictable and sometimes we get swept up in the current. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a mindfulness-based approach that helps us live more fully in the present while moving toward what truly matters to us. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult thoughts or feelings, ACT teaches us to accept them as natural parts of being human. Through mindfulness, values exploration, and committed action, ACT helps us build flexibility in how we respond to challenges, so we can make choices that align with our goals and values. It’s about learning to hold space for discomfort while still taking meaningful steps toward a fulfilling and purposeful life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I often say, "It all starts with your thoughts." Our thoughts shape how we see the world, which influences how we feel and act. CBT helps identify unhelpful thinking patterns and replace them with more balanced, realistic ones. Together, we’ll explore how your thoughts might be holding you back and develop practical strategies to challenge them. This process empowers you to respond to life's challenges in healthier, more productive ways, creating lasting change.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) was designed to help individuals manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and make meaningful changes. In my practice, I use DBT to teach skills in four key areas: mindfulness (staying present in the moment), emotion regulation (understanding and managing emotions), distress tolerance (navigating crises without making things worse), and interpersonal effectiveness (building healthy, respectful relationships). Together, we'll work to balance acceptance of where you are now with motivation to grow. The goal is to help you feel more in control and live a life that aligns with your values.
